Unappreciative

I try to help them.

To be there for them,

But advantage they take.

All they do is take!

Do they even care?

They say treat thy neighbor

As though ought to be treated.

While they employ you like trash

They only seek you when in need,

To reward their selfish needs.

Anger, betrayal, disillusionment,

Worry, disappointment and rage,

Publicize my heart and soul.

Questions, so many questions.

Why do they always collect,

Capture and grab?

Leaving you high and dry.

How long has this been perpetuating for?

Or was I too a fool to comprehend it?

They say keep your friends close

And your enemies closer.

And they are closer

Because guess what?

Sometimes friends and family

Are our enemies.
