The past few days have been quite hectic for me especially with school and everything else going on (which is one of the reasons why I haven’t been posting anything lately on my blog, I apologise for that). Anyways, I noticed that I have been doubting myself and feeling a little bit odd about myself which obviously I didn’t accept.
So I decided to improve by continuing and doing a few things that would normally make me feel appreciative and whole again hence, confident. With that said, I will not only be sharing with you some tips to help you be confident but to also help you maintain your confidence.
So what is confidence?
For me basically, I believe it’s a feeling that you get when you are sure about your own ability to do things in becoming successful and a better version of yourself. So let’s get to it.
1. Pray to God
Faith is a living, daring confidence in God’s grace, so sure and certain that a man could stake his life on it a thousand times.– Martin Luther
As a spiritual being, praying is one of the most important things one can do to maintain their peace, communicate and spend time with God.
In John 15:15, Jesus says he no longer calls us his servants, but calls us his friends. So praying helps us to not feel alone for Jesus is our friend and he is always with us no matter what. When one prays they can be confident enough in everything and anything for God is on their side, and in the end he always answers our prayers eventually providing us with breakthroughs from our devastating circumstances.
2. Working out

Being fit is another way to be and gain confidence. Don’t let this pandemic affect your fitness, I understand that some gyms have not been open, but don’t let this alarm you or hinder you from being fit.
There are other ways to workout such as exercises and workouts that one can do at home. For instance, I workout everyday in my room for 1 hour and 30 minutes from 18h30 to 20h00 just to be in shape. Right now I’m busy with the Chloe Ting Hourglass Workout Program which I find very effective but I must admit at first it wasn’t easy but remember “no pain, no gain”.
When it comes to working out you need to make sure your diet is stable, and let’s keep in mind that you don’t necessarily have to starve yourself. However you can watch what you eat and add, vegetables and fruits to your diet and don’t forget to drink lots and lots of water. And if your not really really a person who drinks water that much, you can always try to spice it up a bit by adding lemons to your water as well as cucumbers to enhance the taste and also because its healthy.
3. Not caring what other people think

They say that ignorance is bliss which for some reason makes sense. Not caring about what other people think is the most courages thing that one can do and this applies to everyone, whether you do stuff or not people will talk. Some will have positive comments others will have negative comments. However, this can also be a good thing cause this can help you for instance to actually know who your friends really are and it can help you be an exceptional and bold person when you ignore and not care about what people think of you, cause “honey” your amazing and that’s all that matters.
Then there are people who criticize others, I know it can be hard to hear someone say things about you that you don’t agree with. But what I’ve learned in most experiences is that we need to learn to not take some of these criticisms personal or to heart cause in the end you will only be troubling yourself. Instead, be the bigger person, be confident enough to accept whatever is being said about you and work on it. Thus let it be a map to becoming your highest self.
5. Speaking kindly to yourself

Sometimes we put so much pressure on ourselves when things don’t go according to plan especially when you know that you always do your best in everything that is thrown at you. We should however realize that we are only human and we cannot always beat ourselves down when things don’t work out. Therefore, speaking kindly to yourself is very important as it can also help with maintaining your mental health. However, you overthinking things and not cutting yourself some slack once in a while will ruin your confidence. So be smart and be kind to yourself.
6. Looking your best

When it comes to looking my best, I always make sure to give it my all no matter where I am going. Looking my best is one of the things that enable me to be confident. Personally I am a socially anxious person but looking good allows me to be myself and feel comfortable in my own skin which in the end relieves me from all the anxiety and from getting a panic attack; and remember that no matter what you wear be it a simple white tee and jeans if you have the confidence you can rock it and look good for confidence is everything. If you have it, you can make anything look good.
7. Having a positive mindset

Having a positive mindset is one of the most beautiful and fascinating attitudes that one can poses, be it your in a terrible condition or situation you will keep going and refuse to give up. It further facilitates us to be optimistic or pessimism, authorizing ourselves to have expectations that have positive outcomes.
8. Remembering that there is only one you

There is a saying that goes like “be yourself for everyone else taken”. Each and every one of us is created uniquely in God’s image and God has a unique or rather different plans for each and everyone. Allow yourself to embrace who you are by doing what you love and what makes you happy. For instance, you can start hanging around with your friends more, going out on dates (even if its just by yourself) and pampering yourself with gifts once you have done something great.
Never allow everyone else’s insecurities be your own, for it tarnishes your personality which in the end destroys your confidence. So make sure to love, accept, respect, appreciate and value yourself as well as your abilities, for you are God’s masterpiece.
9. Educating yourself

As I save the best for last, educating yourself doesn’t necessarily mean you having to go to school and study. However, that is a more effective way to do it as you are not only training your mind but allowing yourself to learn new things and learn how to be disciplined. Moreover, there are other ways that one can educate and enrich their minds such as reading more and more books that are of importance, doing things that excite and frighten you. Trying by all means to do things by yourself allowing you to stand tall on your own feet. As well as exploring new horizons and your hobbies which in the end will tell you more about yourself.
All in all, being confident allows you to be clear headed and be peaceful while you try to achieve your goals and dreams. So be confident, and if not fake it for a Elle King once said “if you fake confidence enough, your going to be confident.”
